Ce temple est dédié au dieu Kixaihih, aussi connu sous le nom de Quetzalli, et auquel les Hanu Hanu vouent un culte. Il s'y trouve notamment une statue de la divinité. Le toponyme, qui signifie quelque chose comme “lieu sec du temple sacré” dans la langue des hommes-oiseaux, viendrait du fait que l'endroit situé dans une zone marécageuse bénéficie du pouvoir du soleil.

The sights of Kozama'uka are wondrous to behold. I would capture this scene in honest words, for the truth requires no embellishment.

A reed-woven statue of the Hanuhanu deity Kixaihih is ensconced here in this place of worship. The shrine is believed to stand on sacred ground─a “holy dry land” blessed by the sun's rays in the otherwise swampy terrain.

Bei meinen Streifzügen durch Kozama'uka gelangte ich an einen Ort, der in mir sowohl großen Respekt für bewährte Traditionen als auch das leise Verlangen nach deren Neuerung erweckte.

Diese Stätte ist der Hanuhanu-Gottheit Kixaihih geweiht, die hier auch von einer beeindruckenden Statue dargestellt wird. Das „Land des trockenen Schreins“ gilt als heilige, sonnengeküsste Stätte inmitten des sonst so feuchten Kozama'ukas.

ハヌハヌ族が信仰するキシャイヒー、別名ケーツハリーを祀った神殿であり、その神像が安置されている。彼らの言葉で「乾いた聖なる社の地」を意味し、湿地帯にあって太陽の力を受けた聖地と考えられているようだ
