This lifelike face of enormous scale appears to peek out from the surface of Mare Lamentorum. One thing is certain: the model would not find the depiction particularly flattering.

Wer für die Züge dieses gigantischen Felsens Modell stand, dessen Antlitz stumm gen Sternenmeer starrt, wird wohl mitsamt dem Schöpfer des Gebildes für alle Zeit ein Mysterium bleiben. Vielleicht ist das auch besser so - sonderlich schmeichelhaft ist jene Darstellung nämlich nicht.
