Autrefois bâti par la Fédération de Grand-Lac, ce château est réputé pour être le lieu où un personnage connu sous le nom de roi de l'Ombre a livré sa dernière bataille à la tête des Elfes conservateurs, juste avant le déluge de Lumière. “Ganlag” serait d'ailleurs l'ancien nom elfique de Grand-Lac.

In my wanderings through Lakeland, I found myself pausing in wide-eyed wonder as I looked out upon the view before me. I knew that I must capture this sight in ink, lest others simply pass it by.

In the old tongue of the elves, “Laxan” is the word for “Lakeland,” and it is here that the region's erstwhile king set his throne. The castle is also infamous as the site of a historical conflict, where the Shadowkeeper led a force of elven dissidents in a final, bloody uprising.

Bei der Erkundung des Seenlands gelangte ich an einen spektakulären Aussichtspunkt. Und was ich erblickte, wird die Barden bis ans Ende aller Tage inspirieren zu Liedern und Weisen.

Diese Burg, die einst vom Seenland-Bündnis erbaut wurde, gilt als der Ort, an dem ein Elf, der als Schattenkönig bekannt war, seine letzte Schlacht an der Spitze der konservativen Elfen führte, kurz bevor die Lichtflut über die Welt hereinbrach. „Selard“ bedeutet in der alten Sprache der Elfen „Seenland“.
